Project Description

The summer of 2011 was insightful and full of hope when the social movements around the word and in Israel began claiming for a social justice in the streets. Though, with the first rain, it was folded tight and remained existent only in the virtual social platforms.

‘White tent City’  is an interactive art installation that takes a virtual space back into the physical place.  A large scaled installation was placed in the Tel Aviv Museum piazza, just where one year before all the riots took place.  Dozens of models of tents  became a platform for visitors to react and once again send a message into the streets using video mapping technologies and smsing messages on the facades of the tents. You could choose any specific tent and send it a message via sms. The messages appeared immediately on the tents walls till someone else replaced it.

The former messages were drawn to a pool of thoughts at the center of the installation and visitor could now rearrange the word as a collaborative tool.
