Along the prestigious and largest ever retrospective for the acclaimed artist Yayoi Kusama we were asked to design the kids wing, for family and children. The space was designed to enhance creativity, through various actions from drawing, writing, reading and testing colors, patterns and shapes but also through relaxing, slowing down and meditating while gazing at the beautiful garden outside. The space was designed as a ‘garden of creativity’ reflecting major themes found in Kusama’s works such as thoughts on infinity, nature, time, patterns and repetitive actions. The space reflected the garden set outside of the gallery through the architectural plan and by the colors, materials, shapes and graphic additions. Children are invited to take a book, disappear in the gardens soft elements or join others for a creative experience of invention and color.
