In House The Light Gallery by the Embassy of Israel, Sweeden

In House is a new pop up light gallery initiated by the Embassy of Israel.

Videos by Israeli artists are projected on the windows of the historical green house at the Embassy and can be watched from the public space freely.

The first video exhibition is called Inside-Out and deals with alternating

point of views between the public and the private spaces. Four Israeli women artists were invited to present their works in a 10 minutes loop that will be projected for a week:

Sharon Balaban // Lila Chitayat and Alit Kreiz // Tal Kronkop. Curator: Anat Safran

Window is a work taking place in the backyard of the ‘white city’ neighborhoods of Tel Aviv. This common space is typical to residential buildings, the left over back yards where all window meet. This area, very private yet public is the place where the most private interiors of our home are exposed outward, placing unknown neighbors in very close proximity.

Through this work we examine the notion of home in cities.  Most city homes are apartments boxed to others to become a building. What turns a building into a home?

‘Window’ was first initiated at the exhibition Home.Building in Liebling Haus Tel Aviv as part of an artist in residence program between Liebling Haus and the Environment and Sustainability Authority. Curators of home.building Anat Levi & Shira Levy Benyemini
